On December 17th the winners of the Galen Awards Italy have been announced during the ceremony held at Circolo della Stampa in Milan.
The award for drug innovation went to serogroup B meningococcal, BEXSERO (NOVARTIS VACCINES).The board also awarded a joint special commendation to sofosbuvir, SOLVADI (GILEAD) and trastuzumab, KADCYLA (ROCHE).
The second Award, for Research (performed in Italy in Clinical or Experimental Pharmacology by young researchers, max 40 years of age) was awarded to Dr. Monica GIANNOTTA, Istituto FIRC di Oncologia Molecolare (IFOM), Milano, for her works on a novel strategy to increase stem cell engraftment in dystrophic muscles.
